The area surrounding Sawgrass Lodge at Econfina River remains pristine, and is the optimum place to fish, scallop, hunt, kayak, boat, or swim. In addition, Sawgrass Lodge is a short drive to Tallahassee, Florida, so exquisite dining, shopping and entertainment is always available.

Econfina State Park

Sawgrass Lodge is the closest vacation rental, to the Econfina State Park. The park provides direct access to the Econfina River. Walking trails, picnic areas, and newly refurbished boat ramps make the Econfina State Park a great place to spend some time and explore.

The historical capital of Florida contains many artful restaurants, as well as large movie theaters, shopping malls and museums. Best of all, all of the fun is just a short drive from Sawgrass Lodge, Florida's nature getaway.

Fishing

With both fresh and salt water nearby, fishing around the Sawgrass Lodge provides for a great variety of experiences. Redfish and trout are some of the locals favorite fish. Deep sea fishing is also a great activity. Charter a boat, or take a short cruse in your own down the Econfina River to the Gulf of Mexico.

Hunting

Experience hunting like never before. While around the Econfina River, you can enjoy hunting for wildlife. Hunt for alligators, waterfowl, white-tailed deer, wild turkey, and many other types of game.

Scalloping

Participate in an activity that provides its own rewards. Scalloping season runs from July 1 until September 10 and draws many to the northern coast of Florida.

Water Fun

Take a cruise down the Econfina River. In a short while you will be in the Gulf of Mexico. From there you can go diving, cruise along the coast, or pull up to a nearby beach. The beaches are a short drive, so a boat is not required.
